Expertise
-
Newberg has been on the irrigation forefront of “Resort” and “Theme Park” growth in the Sunshine State for more than four decades, working hand in hand with our customers, to give them exactly what they are looking for in a tightly specified irrigation system.
Whether it’s a brand new system or rehabbing an existing one, Newberg has the expertise and experience in Golf irrigation. HDPE, central controls, weather stations, pump stations, valve in heads, etc. are all in our wheel house.
Everything within an irrigation system starts at the point of connection, as the correct pressure and flow are needed to ensure an irrigation system runs at maximum efficiency at all times. Filtration systems are equally important, especially when using dirty water. The proper steps must be met to filter out the bad elements upstream and to make everything downstream is as clean as possible. With close to 100 years of irrigation experience, Newberg has achieved the expertise necessary to properly install and maintain all the various types of pump stations used on large projects.
Through central controls, low volume irrigation, moisture sensing and flow sensing and weather stations, Newberg prides itself on using everything at our disposal to conserve water, yet at the same time, making sure all plant material receives the water it needs to thrive.
Newberg has extensive experience running large main lines to feed sub-main lines for large communities, athletic complexes, etc. to maximize irrigation watering at the most efficient level.
Basic irrigation 101 is to simply hydro zone. This means to group plants or grasses with similar watering needs together in zones. You can cater or customize your irrigation scheduling to those specific hydro zones and their (similar) watering needs.
Newberg began to design and install low volume drip irrigation in the 1980s. With water conservation becoming more and more prevalent, low volume irrigation is gaining in popularity. Low volume drip irrigation is micro-irrigation. This allows water to drip slowly to the roots of plants. Low volume drip passes the cost savings to the customer, while at the same time, using less water to irrigate plant material.
Newberg is a Florida state licensed contractor. We also have certifications through the Irrigation Association such as Certified Irrigation Contractor, Certified Irrigation Landscape Auditor, and Certified Irrigation Designer. Newberg also holds certifications in Fusion for HDPE, Maintenance of Traffic, OSHA, Rain Bird Central Controls (IQ, Maxi Com and Site Control), Baseline Water Manager, Toro Control Systems, Hunter Two-Wire Technology, Cal Sense Control Systems, Rain Master, etc.
Programming the control timer properly is paramount. You can waste thousands of gallons of water by doing otherwise. You can’t just set it and forget it. You have to have to flexibility to adjust run times based on needs and weather conditions.
When called for, our team of experts at Newberg are certified to install HDPE. HDPE is thicker than PVC and more flexible. The HDPE connection of pipe to pipe or pipe to fitting(s) are done by a butt-fuse connection with specialized fusion machines.
We have a tremendous amount of experience in installing (and maintaining) central control systems from a single, central computer on or off-site. Central control systems allow a single operator to program, monitor and operate an irrigation system. Central control systems are also adaptive and can change on the fly to revise and adjust an irrigation system to changing weather conditions.
Newberg was an installation pioneer with the two-wire control system. Since 2004, we have worked closely with manufacturers to enhance, develop, maintain and convert two-wire systems throughout Florida. Two-wire is a cost-effective and reliable method to irrigate large properties.
At Newberg, no job is too difficult. This rings true when working with privately held cemeteries or the Veteran Administration, where stringent specifications and working in very tight quarters, are often the case.
